Dr. Edgar T. Sosa is a highly skilled board certified plastic surgeon based in Central Florida, bringing a wealth of knowledge and international experience to his practice. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Dr. Sosa immigrated to the United States with his family in 1990, eventually settling in Central Florida. He attended Oviedo High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically, participating in football and Olympic weightlifting.
Dr. Sosa pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Molecular and Microbiology, and Psychology. He then earned his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Southern Maine.
Following medical school, Dr. Sosa completed his internship in internal medicine and general surgery training at Berkshire Medical Center in Massachusetts. During his training, he developed a passion for reconstructive surgery through participation in medical missions to underserved areas, including the Amazon, South Sudan, Kenya, Morocco, and the Indian Himalayas.
To further hone his skills, Dr. Sosa trained in plastic surgery at the prestigious Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA, where he worked alongside world-renowned surgeons and gained experience at top institutions such as Boston Children's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Driven by a desire to give back to his community, Dr. Sosa returned to Central Florida, where he now offers personalized plastic and reconstructive surgery.
